# What is GEO?

## GEO Overview

**GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)** means optimizing your presence for AI-powered search and answer systems – not just for classic search engines like Google.

More and more users ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Google AI instead of googling directly. When these models do **not** mention you, you lose potential customers – without noticing.

## GEO vs. SEO
