# LinkedIn Integration

> Connect LinkedIn to improve person scans, personas, and Content Sources with richer context.

## What LinkedIn is used for in MakeMeRank

The LinkedIn integration can help in several parts of the product:

* as a **sign-in method** in addition to email/password and Google
* as additional context for **person scans**
* for **importing posts** into your Content Sources
* for deriving a **persona** from your profile and posts

LinkedIn is not required, but it often improves both precision and personalization.

## Sign in with LinkedIn

On the auth page, you can now sign in with:

* **email and password**
* **Google**
* **LinkedIn**

This is useful if you want to move directly from sign-in into your dashboard with your LinkedIn identity already connected.

## How to connect LinkedIn

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the relevant area">
    Depending on your goal, open **Quickscan**, **Content Sources**, or **Personas**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect LinkedIn">
    Start the OAuth flow directly in the app.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm access">
    LinkedIn requests the necessary permissions. MakeMeRank uses the connection with read-only access.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use the context">
    After connecting, you can import posts, load persona context, or use extra context for person scans.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## LinkedIn before Quickscan

For person scans, you can also connect LinkedIn directly from the Quickscan flow. This lets MakeMeRank use your real profile positioning as part of the search context before the scan runs.

That means the scan can work with richer context such as:

* your LinkedIn profile framing
* your current positioning
* the topics your profile and recent content already reinforce

## What MakeMeRank uses from LinkedIn

Depending on the flow, the following data can be used:

* profile data for classification
* retrievable LinkedIn posts
* context for persona summaries
* imported posts as Content Sources

## Privacy and control

* The connection is **read-only**.
* MakeMeRank does not post on your behalf.
* You can disconnect LinkedIn at any time.

If you mainly want to use LinkedIn to build your content context, continue with [Content Sources](/guides/content-sources). If you want to use LinkedIn to shape tone and style, continue with [Personas](/guides/writing-styles).
